Key takeaways

  • For most people, a 5% online cashback card like SBI Cashback is the simplest pick for quick commerce, within its ₹2,000 monthly online cap.
  • HSBC Live+ gives 10% on groceries, dining and food delivery, capped at ₹1,200 a month.
  • Swiggy HDFC cards suit heavy Instamart users.
  • Federal Bank's new Paisaback card (September 2026) is reported to give 7.5% on groceries including Blinkit and Zepto, capped at ₹1,000 a month.

Quick commerce has become many households' main grocery channel. If you spend ₹5,000–15,000 a month on Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart or BigBasket, the right card can return ₹3,000–10,000 a year. Here's how the leading cards compare, with their caps.

How cards treat quick commerce spends

Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart and BigBasket are online merchants, so they usually earn a card's "online" rate. Some cards also give a grocery-specific rate. Instamart is part of Swiggy, so Swiggy-branded cards may give their Swiggy rate there.

The contenders

SBI Cashback

5% cashback on online spends, capped at ₹2,000 per statement since April 2026 (plus 1% offline, capped separately). Most quick commerce orders count as online. Simple and strong up to about ₹40,000 of online spending a month. ₹999 fee, waived at ₹2 lakh a year.

HSBC Live+

10% cashback on dining, food delivery and groceries, capped at ₹1,200 a month. Excellent if groceries plus food delivery are about ₹12,000 a month. Above that, the cap bites.

HDFC Millennia

5% cashback on partner merchants (the list includes several shopping and food apps), capped at ₹1,000 a month. Check the current partner list for your grocery app.

Swiggy HDFC cards

Swiggy BLCK gives 10% on Swiggy (including Instamart) capped at ₹1,500 a month, and Swiggy ORNGE gives 5% within its combined cap. Best for Instamart-first households. See our Swiggy card comparison if you're choosing between these.

Federal Bank Paisaback (new)

Launched in September 2026, reports say it gives 7.5% cashback on eligible grocery spends, including DMart, Reliance Fresh, Blinkit, Zepto and BigBasket, capped at ₹1,000 a month. See the full Paisaback review. Note the ₹1,000 cap covers all its cashback, not just groceries.

Best setup by spending

  • Under ₹8,000 a month on groceries: one card, such as HSBC Live+ or SBI Cashback.
  • ₹8,000–20,000: split across two cards so you use both caps, for example HSBC Live+ for groceries and food, SBI Cashback for other online shopping.
  • Mostly Instamart: a Swiggy HDFC card.

Score your combination with Card Roast.

Example: a family spending ₹12,000 a month

Take a family ordering ₹8,000 a month of groceries on Blinkit and Zepto, ₹4,000 on food delivery and ₹6,000 on other online shopping.

  • One card, SBI Cashback: 5% on ₹18,000 of online spending is ₹900 a month, comfortably within the ₹2,000 cap. About ₹10,800 a year before the fee (waived at ₹2 lakh a year of spending).
  • Two cards, HSBC Live+ plus SBI Cashback: 10% on ₹12,000 of groceries and food delivery is capped at ₹1,200; plus 5% on ₹6,000 of shopping is ₹300. About ₹18,000 a year, before fees.

The two-card setup earns more, but only if you remember which card to use and both annual fees are waived or worth it. Check each card's merchant classification and exclusions before relying on these estimates.

What about UPI on credit cards?

Many quick commerce apps accept UPI, and RuPay credit cards can be linked to UPI. Rewards on RuPay credit card UPI payments vary by bank and are often lower than normal card payments. If your card rewards UPI at the full rate, it's a convenient option. See RuPay credit cards on UPI.

Tips to save more on quick commerce

  • Watch the fees, not just cashback. Delivery, handling, small-cart and late-night fees can outweigh 5% cashback on small orders. Consolidate orders.
  • Check app-specific bank offers. Apps run instant discounts with specific cards on certain days.
  • Don't pay through the app wallet if your card doesn't reward wallet loads. Pay by card directly.
  • Track your caps. Once a card hits its monthly cap, switch to your second card for the rest of the month.
