Editorial Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Our goal is simple: give Indian consumers accurate, useful and independent information about credit cards.
How we research
- Card details come first from issuer websites and published terms (MITC). Where issuers are unclear, we use reputable news and specialist coverage, and we cite sources in news articles.
- Reward points are converted to rupees using a realistic, commonly available redemption, not the best theoretical value.
How we rank
Rankings are calculated, not chosen. For each card we estimate yearly value for a defined spending profile, applying monthly caps, milestone benefits, the annual fee with 18% GST (unless waived), and forex costs. The profile used is stated on every ranking page, and you can rerun it with your own numbers in the credit card finder.
Independence
Advertisers and issuers cannot pay for placement, influence rankings, or review content before publication. Any sponsored content or affiliate link is clearly labelled.
Updates and corrections
Banks change cards often. We review card data regularly and update it when we learn of changes. Pages show when they were last updated. If you find an error, tell us. We correct verified mistakes promptly.
Authorship
Articles are written and fact-checked by Deepak, CardPicker's founder and editor. Every article shows its author, publication date, fact-check date and sources. We don't publish content we haven't checked, and we aim to write plainly, without jargon or hype.
How we use AI and automation
We use software to calculate card values, check links and flag stale data, and we may use AI tools to help draft or edit. Every figure and claim is checked against the cited sources before publishing, and the author is responsible for the final content.
Staying current
Card data is re-verified on a regular schedule. Our publishing checks block a release if a card hasn't been verified within 90 days or if an article lacks sources. Changes we find are recorded in our public changes log.
