This privacy policy explains how CardPicker.in ("CardPicker", "we", "us") handles information when you use this website. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and keep it no longer than necessary.
Calculator inputs. Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers. Some preferences (such as your spend profile and compare selection) are saved in your browser's local storage for convenience. You can clear them through your browser settings.
Log data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard log information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit, for security and performance.

Email alerts and newsletter

If you sign up for alerts, we store your email address, signup date and subscription status in our database on our hosting provider (Hostinger, India). We use double opt-in: you're only subscribed after clicking the confirmation link we email you. We use your email only to send credit card alerts and our newsletter, and never sell or share it. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to delete your data by emailing contact@cardpicker.in.

Browser push notifications

If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push "endpoint" address (provided by your browser's push service, such as Google, Mozilla, Microsoft or Apple). We store only that endpoint to send you alerts. It doesn't include your name, email or browsing history. You can turn notifications off at any time with the button on our site or in your browser settings, and we delete endpoints that are no longer valid.

Card reviews

If you submit a card review, we store the name you choose to display, your rating, title and review text, whether you say you hold the card, the date, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used only for abuse prevention and can't be reversed. We check every review before it's published and may reject reviews that are off-topic, promotional, abusive or that contain links or personal details. Published reviews show your display name, rating, text and date. To have a review removed, email contact@cardpicker.in with the card name and review title.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use a small number of essential cookies or local-storage entries (for example, to remember your cookie choice). Third-party services we use, described below, may also set cookies.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We may use Google AdSense to show advertisements. In that case:

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Our pages link to bank and card issuer websites and to news sources. We load fonts from Google Fonts. These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Your choices and rights

You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings and our cookie banner.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you've sent us by emailing contact@cardpicker.in.
We handle personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
